A Grand Time. An Essential Time.

This was such a fun festival to be a part of. It was a special treat because we weren't even sure if we would attend. Even though we were tired from a previous shoot, we made our way to this festival, battled the frustrations of parking in the Plaza District, and started walking around, and I am glad we did.

It took me a minute to warm up, a process and ideology I will talk about in a future blog post, but eventually I got in the flow. It was a cool transition from realizing I was subject-focused, to being more feeling and action focused. I had a lot of fun with framing my shots with foreground materials, such as the space in between steps on a ladder. Foreground elements can be a lot of fun to play with, and today I had my fill.

I loved all the bright and saturated colors today. Lately, I haven't really been diving into color as it can be too much at times, but today I embraced it.

I guess the lesson today is go out and shoot when you know you should, but initially feel like you don't want to. It's kind of like the gym. I know I have my days where I do not want to go, but I drag my butt in the gym anyway, get a couple reps going, and then my mindset shifts to wanting to continue my lift.

So yeah, go shoot. Go paint. Go play your instrument. Don't wait for a feeling to tell you do something, do it because you know you should. Only you can create what you are meant to create, so don't do the world a disservice by keeping it from us. Go create because you are creative. Go make because you are a maker of things. I look forward to seeing your creations. In the meantime, here is what I was meant to create today, I hope you enjoy them.
